Lahore – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Pakistan on Monday evening after completing a four-day diplomatic tour spanning Bahrain and the United Kingdom. The premier received an official welcome from government representatives and administrative officials upon landing in Lahore.

Diplomatic Visit Overview

The Prime Minister’s international tour commenced with an official state visit to Bahrain, where he participated in strategic bilateral discussions and attended the prestigious Bahrain Knighthood Award ceremony as a distinguished guest. Following his diplomatic engagements, PM Shehbaz traveled to London for personal commitments.

Strategic Meeting Anticipated

Sources indicate that the Prime Minister will spend Monday night at his private Lahore residence before proceeding to the capital on Tuesday. Political insiders suggest a crucial consultative meeting is scheduled before his Islamabad departure, though official confirmation remains pending.

While specific agenda details remain undisclosed, the meeting is reportedly connected to ongoing political developments and governmental policy matters that could influence significant administrative decisions in the immediate future.

Chief of Defence Forces Appointment Update

The PM’s return coincides with mounting anticipation regarding the formal appointment notification for the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), a newly established position under Pakistan’s 27th Constitutional Amendment.

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar addressed speculation surrounding the delayed announcement, emphasizing that the postponement reflects standard procedural requirements rather than institutional uncertainty. “The prime minister’s presence is essential for finalization. The Ministry of Defence will proceed following coordination with the Prime Minister’s Office,” Tarar explained to media representatives.

The clarification comes as the November 29 deadline passed without official notification, generating widespread speculation about the appointment process.
