ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned India’s recent missile strikes on Pakistani territory, describing them as a blatant violation of international law and an unprovoked act of aggression.

He stated that such actions expose the true nature of India’s fascist government, which prioritises political objectives over regional peace and stability.In a statement issued today, President Zardari said that the strikes violated international law and the United Nations Charter.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its territorial integrity and stated that the armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any further aggression.The Indian attacked multiple locations in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) resulting in 26 civilian casualties, including children.

Pakistan’s military responded by shooting down several Indian aircraft, security sources said.India’s attacks came after the April 22 Pahalgam attack in India-Illegally Occupied Jammu and kashmir (IIOJK), which resulted in 26 deaths.

India alleges involvement of Pakistani elements in orchestrating the attack but has not presented any evidence to back the claim. Pakistan denies all involvement and called for a neutral probe.The incident led to both countries recalling diplomats, suspending visas, and taking military actions.

President Zardari also called on the international community to condemn India’s actions and support Pakistan’s right to self-defense.He reiterated that Pakistan seeks peaceful relations with all neighbors but will not compromise on its sovereignty.

The situation remains tense, with both countries on high alert.Diplomatic efforts are underway to de-escalate the crisis.

Pakistan’s political leaders, belonging to both the governing and opposition parties, have come together in condemnation of India’s attack on Pakistan.India carried out airstrikes on six different locations inside Pakistani territory leading to the martyrdom of 26 people including two three-year-old girls and seven women.

In addition, 46 individuals were injured, including nine women and 28 men.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari condemned India’s missile strikes against Pakistan, calling them a “cowardly attack” on civilian targets.Bilawal, in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), condemned the strikes on Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad and called it an act of war.
